118 Search Views at 12 Noon: A Good Sign

So my views are higher today than they have been for all of december.  That is encouraging for 2016.

One of the time periods at which I measure my stats is 12 noon.  I like to have 100 search views by 12 noon.  And for all of december I was below 100.  I didn't reach 300 search views once in december.

But here today, on a tuesday, right after Christmas I have 118 views from Etsy search.  With 579 total views.

For the week before Christmas I'd only be in the 60's-80's at 12 noon.

For the past 3 years my search views were higher for the days and months after Christmas than for the weeks before.  This year is that way again.  That is encouraging.  Even my Christmas day search views were decent.

Time to get to work.  I have orders to pack.

Low Views before Christmas

So I finished yesterday, a thursday, with only 1,160 total views.  That is with more than 1,300 listings.

Today I have just more than 1,000 total views.

Back in 2012 and 2013 during the year I was having 1,200-1400 total views/day with only 400-600 listings.
That was when it wasn't the Christmas shopping season.

1 sale yesterday.  1 sale today.

Disappointing for it being right before Christmas.

Maybe start on Ebay next year????

Oh well.

Only 175 Search Views Yesterday!

Wow.  Still at least 5 days left in the Christmas shopping season, at least for shipping items for Christmas, and I finished the wed with only 175 views from Etsy search!!

I haven't had fewer than 200 search views in december since at least 2012!!

Last year on dec 16th I had 294 views from Etsy search!!

AND yesterday I had only 75 Other views!!  Last year I had 225!!

I have noticed over the past 2 months or so that I have lost many "Other" views.

This bugs me that my shop is doing worse than last year.  So 2016 is not looking good.

2016 will probably be worse than this year.  Probably about oct level views & revenue.

A High View Sunday before Christmas

So yesterday, December 13th, I finished with 2,008 total views.  And 327 Etsy search views.  4 small orders.

It was a decent day.

For the first 13 days of december I still have 17 FEWER orders than last year.  And just a tiny bit more revenue.

My orders last december picked up the 2nd week of the month.

Today's views are low.  Only 52 search views at 9:47am.

So I am guessing the Christmas shopping season is just about over for me.  I will probably get some more cheap ones.

Then, the new year.  Hhhmmm....

I am not sure what to do about next year.

Back to work packing orders.

Closing ShoponSherman Still a Possibility

So at the end of october I was prepared to close my vintage shop on Etsy.  I had a very good november.  Which was actually better than nov 2014.  And I've had had a decent first 10 days of december.

But revenue for 4 of the past 5 days has not been good.  And here, a weekend before Christmas, I have made 6 sales.  But for only $161.  Not good, I don't feel. Especially with 1,300+ listings.

I will not match the great dec of 2014.  I will probably be half as good.  Half as many orders.  Half the revenue.

So closing ShoponSherman is back on the table.  With Christmas sales ending so soon.

I would like to close in january.  

Oh well.

I have orders to pack & ship.

401 Search Views Yesterday

So I still had high views for the wed, the middle of the week. Good to see.

With 1,482 total views.
 Only 1 sale though.

Only 43 Google views.  And only 86 Other views.

I have work to do.

Something's not right.  Etsy has changed how they are counting views.  Or their is a stat bug.

My "keyword" views add up to only 24.  But my stats say I have 96 search views??

I sent Support an email.  See what they have to say.

So it looks as though I am getting sky high search views, BUT...

I have only 20 keywords with only 2 search view EACH.

So my stats say I have 83 search views, but the search keywords only add up to 20!

So it is continuing.  Whatever it is.  I guess it is good for me.  If the stats are accurate, that is.

A High View Day: 607 Search Views????

So even though I had less than 100 views from Etsy search at 12 noon I finished with 607????

Something is going on with stats???

Etsy is changing how they are counting views or search views or something???

The high search views started about the 5 o'clock hour:

It is the same thing that happened 2 or 3 other times around aug-sept.  A couple of those times I had a very high amount of search views for only a couple hours though.

I am not sure what to make of these high views.  To beleive that they are accurate or not.  Will they continue into the new year??

Anyway, I finished yesterday, a tuesday, with 607 views from Etsy search and 1,969 total views.

It was an active day for sales, too, with 6 orders for a good amount of revenue.

Only 45 Google views.

AND.....another area I have noticed where I have lost many views is "Your Listings" views.  I believe that is due to etsy showing other shops listings on our listings on mobile devices...

People are not browsing my shop through my listings like they have in the past.  They are clicking out of my shop??

Still a Good Views Day: 400 Search Views at 8:30pm

So with only having 98 views from Etsy search I thought I was going to only be in the 200's today.

But things picked up a lot in the afternoon and into the evening.

Here at 8:30pm I have 401 views from Etsy search with 1,448 total views.

It has been an active day in my shop.

With 5 orders too.

Only 37 Google views.

Boy, I remember the spring of 2014 before Google made their change....I was in the 30's-60's at 12 noon.

Then their Panda change that year.  My views came back some by Christmas.

And this year I was very happy to see them get even higher.  Through the summer I was in the 50's and even had a new 2 year record high  in the 80's in august.

But then they have dropped in november.

Well, I will see what I can do about that.

Well, I knew my Etsy search views were going to make a big drop after the record high views on sunday.

From sunday and monday with search views in the mid to upper 200's at 12 noon.

Today I have 98 search views with 557 total views.

I did make a sale of 2 teacups.

Only 9 Google views.

Back to work.

474 Search Views Yesterday with High Total Views

So it was a drop of 243 Etsy search views from sunday to monday.  But I still finished the monday with 474 views from Etsy search with 1,874 total views.

And 5 orders.

Only 41 Google views though.  After being in the 60's for october into november.  After being in the 50's-70's through the summer too.

Time for bed.

Another High View Day: 400 Search Views at 8pm

Well, views from etsy search are not as high as yesterday, a sunday. That is expected.  But they are still pretty high.  I might reach 500 search views today.

Here at 8:10pm I have 400 views from Etsy search with 1,293 total views AND  468 favorites.

People are browsing my shop today and favoriting things.  I had more than 700 search views yesterday, but only 246 favorites.  That probably doesn't mean anything. lol.

4 orders today.  For low revenue.  But better than nothing.

So it was a productive day. I got 4 orders packed and shipped.  With many more to do in the next couple days.

And I bought a beautiful Paragon rose teacup for a low price compared to what it sells for on Ebay.

What a Crazy, Freaky High of 719 Search Views Yesterday!!

Wow.  I wonder what was going on yesterday????

I finished the 1st sunday in december with 719 views from Etsy search!!

And 2,289 total views.

With 9 orders.

How/why in the world did I get SO MANY search views???

A couple years ago I thought I'd never see 400 search views.  Then last year I reached 400 and even had a record high of 470.

I thought I'd NEVER see 500 search views.

This year I did it a couple times.   And it was because I had a couple hour surge of search views.

But yesterday!  It was steady views all... day... long.

One thing, I got views over night.
Probably international views.
For a while now, since my search views have dropped, my views drop at abotu 2am.
I have not been getting international views overnight.

But last night I did.
I had high views straight through the night.

I don't know what to say about so many search views actually.
I know I will never see this many again.

And it wasn't from one listing or one search term that I was getting the views.
In the past when I've had some high view days it was because I had a listing or two getting a high number of views.
Not yesterday.
I even sold my very popular radio last week.

AND....I am in for a HUGE drop in the next day or two.  Back in to the 200's and maybe 300's.

"You should take up singing" Part 3

So after grade school I did not sing at all.  I only listened to music every day.  Which almost everyone does.

I had a clock radio next to my bed and I'd play it all the time.  Even going to sleep to it.

I never thought about singing in high school. Not even in my 20's.

In the 90's I called a country music station to request a song for a girl I liked.  When the DJ picked up I said, "I'd like to request a song.".
The DJ said, "Dude, you have an awesome voice!"

Then, about 4 years later in the spring of '98 I was working in landscaping, and we went to pick up a guy who was going to work for us that day.

It was that DJ.  He got fired from the country station and was going to move to Denver.

It was about when I was 30 years old when I started to think about singing and whether I had a voice for it.  I would still get the feeling some time when listening to a song that I would love to sing.  But I still didn't try to sing at all.

One day I was upstairs and my one sister was visiting.  She was downstairs with my mom.  I said a quick silent prayer to God, "If I can sing, you are going to have to let me know.".

After that I went downstairs to use the phone and my sister was sitting in the kitchen she did her play acting singing, "AAaahh".  "I have a good voice.  Don't I?"  And we laughed.

She came into me in the dining room and put a hand on the side of each of my shoulders and said, "You can sing!"  lol.

That was the answer to my prayer?

No matter.  I didn't do anything after that either.

"You should take up singing" Part 2

So my first experience with singing was when I was about 7 years old.

Every night my sister and I would kiss our parents goodnight as they were sitting at his bar.

I can't remember how I first sang something for him, but he asked me to sing The Lord's Prayer.  I don't remember his exact reaction or what he said, but it was positive.

Then another time, maybe days or a week or so after that, he asked me to sing The Lord's Prayer again, but I didn't want to.  I was scared.  And shy.  So he said he'd pay me $1 if I sang it.  I sang it for him and he gave me the dollar.

My dad passed away when I was 11, and that was the only time I sang at home.  Neither of my parents tried to help me to sing or encouraged me to.

My next time singing was at practice for our 8th grade recital.  Every year at our Catholic grade school each grade would sing in the gym.

At practice one day the music teacher had the kid in front of me sing a part.  Then she wanted me to try that part and I got scared and said no.

At the 8th grade performance in 1981 was the last time I sang.

In 7th and 8th grade as soon as I got home from school I'd go right to the stereo and put in Elvis 8-tracks and sing along for a couple hours.

At times I have wanted to sing.  Although I never have.  At times just hearing a song in a store or on the radio or listing to a cd in the past I'd feel it in my heart that I would love to sing.    But a lot of people feel that way.  Many who can't sing.

So at the end of last october 2014 I was working at my garden job decorating outside for the coming house & garden tour.  I was thinking to myself that we should pay attention to the messages we get in our environment.  That the angels and God are working behind the scenes in our lives trying to help us.  And they give us messages in many ways.  That 'God speaks to us through our environment".

I then walked down to street level to work on something when the  man I work for, who was up at the front door said down to me, "You should take up singing.  The girls would be all over you." lol.

I just said "Yeah, that would be fun." and we both laughed.

I had never said anything to him about singing in the more than 3 1/2 years I had been working for him.

I took it as a message that I could sing.  And God knows how I love girls.  lol.

I didn't do anything about that message in this past year.

Here I am at nearly 50 years old and I have had other signs and messages in my life.  But I have never sang.

I won't sing.

I am going to waste it.

I know the angels gave me the message for a positive reason. But it is actually disappointing.  I never got any help as a boy to sing.  I missed out on singing in my youth.  I am not going to sing now.

I see many children and young people singing.  And they got help from the parents.  I never did.  What a waste.

I am at least glad I know about the gift.  I've suspected for some time.  Now I get to waste it.

Oh well.

So I surprisingly finished yesterday, a friday, with 441 views from Etsy search and 1,657 total views.  It was a big jump in search views from the day before.

I saw the drop it was going to be today in the midnight hour.  And here right after 12 noon I have only 109 views from Etsy search.  Yesterday I had 186 at noon.

I expected today to be higher than yesterday.  At least as high.

Only 49 Google views yesterday.  That is still disappointing after being in the 60's for october and into november.

15 Google views today after 12 noon.  That is more like how it was.  See how it ends though.

Another place where I have lost considerable views is "Other".  Those are partly views from Google when people use a search term and have a search result "Similar items on Etsy", and when they click on that, they come to a market page with results from Etsy shops.  So my items are not being click on as much??? Or something else.

Oh well.

This is one of my highest search view days of the year.  My highest this Christmas season.

Here at 12 noon I have 186 views from Etsy search and 759 total views.

So people are finding me AND they are browsing my shop.

I judge my day by how fast I reach 100 views from Etsy search.  This past week I was reaching that about 12 noon -3pm.

Today I reached it about 7:30am.

I should be over 400 search views for the day.

I wonder how long these views will last.

This was the norm from last october til this march.

I will enjoy the next week or 2 of high views.

I saw in the midnight hour that I had 24 search views.

So there was a big drop in search views yesterday.  Which was kind of expected since it was monday.

But it was a drop of more than 160.  From 460 on sunday to 298 views from Etsy search yesterday.

I still finished with 1,750 total views.  So people were browsing my shop.

AND....11 sales yesterday.  Felt like the good ole days. lol.  

Revenue was decent.

Now I have many orders to pack & ship today.

Yesterday, the last sunday in november, was one of the highest view days ever in my shop without being featured somewhere.

I finished the sunday with 411 views from Etsy search AND 2,359 TOTAL views!

So people were finding me AND browsing my shop!

5 sales.  Only ok revenue.

It is still a little disappointing that direct Google views are down.  Only 44 yesterday.  After being in the 60's for so much of august, sept and october.

58 Pinterest views.

35 Category views.

Another High View Day

So I measure how well I am doing with Etsy search views at 7am, 12 noon, 7pm and at midnight, of course.

Here at 12 Noon I have 151 views from Etsy search!!  One of the highest view days since march.
For most of the past 8 weeks I'd be in the 60's-80's.

It is good to see my search views have come back/are high.  I thought they'd be permanently low because of Etsy's "improvements".  I thought search view totals in the 200's was the new normal.

But how long will these high search views last??  The past 2 years my views were actually higher right AFTER Christmas than for the weeks before.  We will see.

And I also have 744 total views today at noon.  So people are browsing my shop!  That is good to see.  Christmas shopping is under way.

360 Search VIews Yesterday!!

Wow.  I reached 300 views from Etsy search for the first time in nearly 2 MONTHS..  When last year I was in the 300's-400's every day from the beginning of october to this march.

I finshed yesterday, the last saturday in november, with 360 views from Etsy search and 1,710 total views.
6 okl sales.

It was an encouraging day.

I did see a thread on the Etsy forums about another shop having record high views yesterday.  Although not every shop that responded was having high views:

This is one of the highest search view days so far at noon that I have had in nearly 2 months.

Here on this last saturday in november, the day after Black Friday, I have 126 views from Etsy search with more than 600 total views.  With 3 small sales.

I might reach 300 search views today??

This week I reached 299 one day.

I haven't reached 300 since the beginning of october!  Last year from October til this march I was in the 300's-400's every day.  This year, 1 time so far.

As I keep checking I see my Royal Stafford teacupt has 3,869 Etsy App views.

The End is Near for ShoponSherman

Here on the 21st of november, I just made a sale for the first time in 3 days.  It was for $29.

More than 1,300 listings and in 3 days near the end of november, I make 1 sale for $29.
That's bad.

Time to close up.

On this saturday at the end of november,right before 7:30pm,  I have only 180 views from Etsy search.

Etsy's changes have cost me thousands of search views.

And so far I have had 6 days without a sale in the first 21 days of this month.
Last year I had 2 all month without a sale.
The previous 2 years I had 1 day each november without a sale.
And nov 2011, my first year, with only 200-300 listing I had only 5 days all month with a sale.

I have 32 orders so far this month.
Last november 21st I had 55.

With almost 50% less revenue this year for nov 1-21.

With 2,300 FEWER search views.
I have more Google views, but those views have dropped signifcantly the past 2-3 weeks.  From the 60's into the 30's and 40's.

It will be hard to close up.
I will take a big lose.
I have so much stuff.
And so much money and time spent on the things and on my shop.

But it is the right thing to do.

All of this will have been for NOTHING.

The end is near.

One of teacups in my vintage Etsy shop that is and has been popular since I first listed the pattern is this beautiful Royal Stafford English teacup.  The current one is a dark blueish-green:

 I have been luck to have found them all online on different sites and all of them made it safely and were in perfect condition.

I listed my first one in this pattern approximately 3 years ago.  It was very popular then, and sold quickly.

This is the 5th one in this pattern I have been able to list.

The first 2 were a lighter shade of this in green.

Royal Stafford wide rim teacups are one of my favorites.  I like the quality mostly, and also the patterns they produced.

This pattern is rarely found online.  At the time I purchased this one, I had just purchased and sold one only a week or so before.  I have not seen another in more than a year.

I search often on many sites for vintage teacups to offer to the visitors of my Etsy shop, and I would like to find this in a different color.  As a beautiful piece to offer my customers, and because I know it, too, would be popular and bring more of the people that appreciate beautiful, vintage teacups.

More than 900 Total Views after 12 Noon

So for the past few days to a week or so visitors have been browsing my vintage Etsy shop.  Although my search views are still low.

Here at 12:12pm I have 932 total views with 97 Etsy search views.

Yesterday I finished with more than 1,500 total views.
The day before yesterday I had more than 1,800 total views.

For the first 14 days of the month, total views and search views are still significantly below 2014's.  But things have been improving the past few days.

Yesterday, a tuesday, I finished below 200 search views with only 198.
On the same day last year I had 374 search views!

But I still had 1,397 total views yesterday.
And 1,472 total views last year.

It has been a good day and a half of sales though.
Decent, anyway.

Last year on this day I had 350 views from Etsy search.

And Google views have dropped noticeably the past 2 weeks.

So Etsy AND Google have hurt my shop.

I feel like closing tonight.

I wish I could.

But I do think this is the end of my shop.

I will have to make the very hard, painful decision to close.
With so much stuff.
After having put in nearly 5 years of work every single day with no days off.
All the time and money and effort.

With really nothing to show for it.

I need to stop being stupid and spending more time and money on a shop that is not making any money.

Gross revenue is low.  With a BIG drop from last year.

Net revenue is LOW.  Less than minimum wage.

Etsy has severely hurt my shop.

I think this is the end.

I have decisions to make.

So I just checked my stats for the past 30 days and was surprised at the low level of orders and revenue.

After checking by calendar month:

*The Fewest Orders in a Calendar month (41) since July 2012 (42).
*The Lowest Revenue in a Calendar month since September 2012

WOW.

This is bad.

I should close up.

I should close up today.

In november of 2012, the end of only my 2nd year, I had 95 orders.
See how many I make this month.
I bet in the 50's.

What A Start to November 2015; The End of ShoponSherman is Near?

October was a bad month.  Revenue was down more than 50% with 40% fewer orders (30 fewer) compared to last november.  Not to mention the nearly 8,000 FEWER total views and more than 3,000 FEWER search views.

Here looking at my stats for only nov 1-4 and comparing them to last year:

Already 400 FEWER search views in only 4 days!.
A little more than 300 Fewer total views.  But with 300-400 MORE listings than last nov.
60% FEWER orders (7 fewer).
For 75% LESS revenue.
Google views are down.  And they were low last november. And have been higher all year until recently.  So they have dropped.
Other views are down.

Sad. And disappointing. And discouraging.

The thing to do is close.  To at least not put time into my shop.

It will be a bad Christmas.  My worst yet?  Back to the revenues of Christmas 2011 and Christmas 2012???

Yesterday I had only 1,115 total views.  That is spring 2013 level views. With 800 MORE listings than 2013.

And here this morning after 8:30am I have only 37 views from Etsy search.  Last november at this time I'd have in the 80's or 90's.

With only 1 sale yesterday.

I had a great thing going.

Etsy messed up my shop.

The end is near.

Wow.  This is so low.

Saturday has been one of my highest days for years.  And especially this time of year.

And I just reached 100 views from Etsy search at 5:36pm.

Earlier this week I reached 100 at 10am.

Disappointing.

I wonder what Etsy has done to  my shop?????

2 Day Total Sales Revenue

So here it is just past noon and in the past 48 hours I have grossed $15 in revenue.  And it is at the end of october.  The busier shopping time of the year compared to the summer.  Nice.

The end of ShoponSherman is near.

Disappointing.

But, oh well.

293 Search Views Yesterday; 100 before 9 AM this Morning

So I am wondering if my shop was featured somewhere on Etsy again??

Yesterday, a sunday, I finished with only 293 views from Etsy earch and more than 1,300 total views.

After midnight it looked slow.

Then I wake up to already 100 views from Etsy search here at 8:56am!

????

Good to see though.

 

From 368 Search Views to 200 in One Day

So 2 days ago I had 368 views from Etsy search and yesterday I finished with only 200!

How does that happen???

What is Etsy doing???

So I finished yesterday, a thursday, with 368 views from Etsy search and I was feeling good.  I was not sure how long the increased views would last though.

I found out today.  Here at 7:16pm I have only 145.  I will end in the low 200's!

136 Etsy Search Views at 12 Noon

So this is 2 consecutive days of increasing Etsy search views.

After a week of very low search views compared to last year.

Here at 12 noon I have 136 views from Etsy search and 552 total views.

I gauge my shop on how well it is doing for the day by 200 Etsy search views.

That is the minimum I want to reach for the day.

And I also check where I am related to 200 Etsy search views at 7 am, 12 noon, 7 pm and at the end of the day.

I would like to reach 100 by 12 noon. And 200 before 7pm.  Just for an average day.

So today is pretty good.

See how long it lasts.

334 Etsy Search Views Yesterday

So yesterday, a tuesday, I had a big jump back up in search views.

The day before I finished with only a  very disappointing 219, but yesterday I had 334.

Glad to see that.

Total views were only in the 1,200's, but it was good to see the high search views agains.

Wonder how long they will last???

220 Etsy Search Views at 5:17pm

So I have already surpassed yesterdays search views before 5:30.  I am nearly 7 hours ahead of yesterday for some reason???

I wonder why???

So it is good to see this jump in Etsy search views.  I also have more than 440 total views.

Is this the beginning of higher search views??

Wow. Comparing Yesterday's Stats, oct 20, 2015 with Last Years!

Before going to bed I checked my Etsy search views and I had ONLY 219.  Sad.  And disappointing.

So I checked my stats for the same day last year, and WOW.  How sad and disappointing:

I had 384 views from Etsy search with 1,769 total views last year!!

Yesterday, I had 219 views from Etsy search with more than 1,200 total views.  Wow.  So sad. And disappointing.  And discouraging.

Time for bed.

On Target to Close March 1st

With the terrible month for my shop this month, especially compared to last october, and no improvement in sight, I will be closing on march 1, 2015.

Revenue is down 50% with 2,100 FEWER search views and 4,000 fewer total views and 20 fewer orders in only the first 16 days.

This is especially disappointing after the good months, and improvements, over the down months of june and july

I am guessing things will tick up a little for Christmas.  Then probably go back down.

So I will stop purchasing new items and prepare to close

Saturday AM: Zero Views from "Tea Cup"

My vintage tea cups are STILL not showing for "tea cup" in Etsy search.

Here right after 12 noon I have zero views for the search words "tea cup".  I have 2 for "tea cups".

My tea cups are showing for types of tea cups.  But not for only those search words. Which are my most searched keywords for more than 4 years!

Good thing I started adding "teacup" to my listings this spring.  It has helped.

My tea cups have disappeared from search for some reason.

I am still waiting to hear back from Etsy Support.

Slow Month: 18 Fewer Orders & 4,000 Fewer Views for Oct 1-15

What a month!

And it is less than halfway through!

39 Orders Last october 1-15 with 21,498 total views.
21 Orders this october 1-15 with only 17, 397 total views.

And a big part of that is nearly 2,100 fewer search views.

Even though I have more than 130 Google views than last oct 1-15.

Almost time for bed.

Only 193 Etsy Search Views and Only 889 Total Views Yesterday

So I finished yesterday with only 889 total views!  Easily the lowest total view day of the year.  And the first time with fewer than 900 since last summer when I also had a big drop in search and total views.

And only 193 views from Etsy search.  Which is actually more than I thought I'd have.

And I owe both of them, I believe, to my tea cups not showing in search!  None of my 625 tea cups show for the search words "tea cup" for at least the first 25 pages!

And the result is a day with nearly 500 fewer total views than the same day last year:

And the disappoint shows with the face that last year on the same date I had 371 views from Etsy search.

A drop of 178!

This is my slowest/lowest month since at least last summer.  I am at 2012 level orders & revenue.

BIG Drop in "Tea" Views in my Vintage Etsy Shop; Because of Etsy??

So I discovered today that NONE of my 625 tea cups are showing in at least the first 25 pages for the search "tea cup", which is has been my most searched keywords for at least 3 years.

And recently, while investigating my thousands of lost total views, I saw in my Google Analytics stats a big drop to negative in my stats on september 21st:

And so after coming home from work and seeing my stats at record low levels, total views and Etsy search views, I tried to find my items so see if they were showing in search.

I was stunned to see that I did NOT have a tea cup on the first page of search for "tea cup" which I have always had.

AND, that NONE of my tea cups were showing for that search word!!

After more investigating and comparing my stats I saw that I have MANY FEWER views from all "tea" searches compared to last year!  'Tea cup', 'tea cups' and 'tea set', and my tea cup shop section also has HUNDREDS fewer views!

Here my top 10 stats by search term for sept 21st to oct 14 2014:

From 361 views for "tea cup" to 58!
From 865 views to my "tea cup" section to 450!
From 818 combined views for 'tea cup', 'tea cups' and 'tea set' to 258!

Very disappointing!

Yes, some of the lost views can be attributed to searchers using different search terms.  And also to the MANY more tea cups listed on Etsy in the past year.  Even in just the past few months.

I believe it is more than that.

Besides the fact that today I am not showing at all for "tea cup", it also has to do with the new search bar, and also to OTHER SHOPS LISTINGS BEING SHOW ON MY LISTINGS on mobile devices:

My Vintage Tea Cups are NOT Showing in Etsy Search Today

When I woke up this morning I saw I was having a low search view day. And low total views.  I was only in the 30's for search views after 8am.

So I come home from work and see my low view day is continuing and that it is one of my lowest view days this year and last year.

I searched "tea cup" and through 24 pages I have NOT SEEN ONE of my listings.

My tea cups are taken out of search????

I have more than 500 vintage tea cups in my vintage Etsy shop, and I know when my views are low it is partly because I am not getting views from my top keyword search "tea cup".

I ALWAYS have 1 listing on the first page.  But for some reason they are gone.  ALL OF THEM.

Someone reported me???

It could be.  I have had some issues with other sellers lately because of copying me.

I have sent 2 emails to Etsy support.

446 Etsy Search Views on Oct 12th, 2014

So for october 12, 2014 I have 446 views from Etsy search with more than 1,700 total views. And 5 orders.

Here today, oct 12th, 2015, at right after 10pm I have 202 views from Etsy search and just more than 1,100 total views.  And 1 tiny order.

Disappointing.

October 11th Search Views

Last year on this day, october 11th, I finished with 357 views from Etsy search.  And more than 1,300 total views.

With probably total listings in the 800's or 900's.

Here at 6:20 pm I have 157 Etsy search views.  :(
I will probably end in the 220's.
With more than 1,200 listings.

Disappointing.

I don't believe it is just from increased competition.

Oh well.

Just when it looked as though things were gonig to go great heading into Christmas, with the very good aug & sept, things have dropped dramatically for october.

After the down months of june and july things picked up for august and sept.  But I think Etsy's "improvements" have hurt me dramatically.  Especially compared to last october:

205 Etsy Search Views at 5am!!!????

What the heck is happening???

I just got out of bed again to check on my shop and saw that I already have 205 views from Etsy search!!

What a freaky thing to happen!

It was freaky when I had the big jump the one morning recently and reached 200 by about 11am.

But then this morning it is even freakier.

At 3am I had 54.  Which was high.

Then I just got out of bed and this:

This is now my new record for the fastest reaching 200 Etsy search views in a day.

BUT....even after that record morning, things slowed down considerably the rest of the day and I finished with "only" 408 views from Etsy search.

And when I reached my record high for the day recently of 508 I had only in the 200's by about 5-6pm.

And it was just on wed that I had only 177 for THE ENTIRE DAY!

This is the 3rd freaky surge in Etsy search views in the past few weeks.

So I will just have to see how the day turns out....

I wonder what is/has been happening???

March 1st Closing Date for My Vintage Etsy Shop?

So with this weekend's lack of sales, 1 brooch, I am planning on closing my vintage Etsy shop.

It is not worth it.  For many reasons.

After nearly 10 years of buying and selling every day, and I sell 1 brooch in 2 days, it's time.
And even for just the past 7 days i have 16 FEWER orders with significant less revenue than for the same time period last year.
With revenue for the year down about 5.7%, and 63 FEWER orders for the year.  

Those are both significant amounts since the items I sell are mostly less than $100 and most less than $60.

It's time to give up the dream.
Not a big dream.
But give up the goal might be more like it.

If I could close today, I would.

I won't add anything new.

I had some fun. And some successes.

I won't make this gross income at a job.
But will probably make this net income or close to it.
And have a better quality of life.

Since nov thru feb are my best months, I will stay open until the end of feb.

March 1st: Get a dumpster and toss whatever is left.
Save some of the best things.
Get a job.

508 Etsy Search Views Yesterday on a Wed!

I wonder what is happening to cause these abnormal and record high Etsy search views???/

So two days ago I had 281 views from Etsy search.  And yesterday I finished with 508!  And it was a wednsday. Sunday has been my high view day for years now.  And I am getting these freaky high jumps in search views during the week???

AND yesterday at 8:30am I already had 138 views from Etsy search.
This morning at 8:45 I have 41!!!

I wonder what is going on???

I finished yesterday with 508 views from Etsy search, 1480 total views, but only 1 small sale.

So I have been at 500+ views from Etsy search here in the middle of september.  Will it even be this good/high for Christmas????

Off to work. I have orders to pack.

"Only" 323 Etsy Search Views Yesterday

So after the freaky high of 518 views from Etsy search on friday I finished yesterday, a saturday, with only 323 views from Etsy search.

More than 1,500 total views too.

And today, a sunday, I will be LESS than 300 views from Etsy search.  When sunday has been my highest view day for more than a year. Probably close to 2+ years.

Oh well.

518 Etsy Search Views Yesterday????!!

What the heck happened???

The day before I had 207 views from Etsy search.  Then yesterday, boom, 518.  Easily a new record high.

I noticed after 5pm I had more than 200.  Which was one of the earliest times I had reached 200 this summer.  Since at least february or march even.

Then about 8pm I noticed I had more than 300.

Then about 10pm I saw I had reached more than 400!

My previous high was last Christmas season when I had 470.  And I had a number of days in the low 400's from the end of last year into the beginning of this year.

And so I finished the friday with 518 views from Etsy search and 1,465 total views!

SOMETHING happened in the late afternoon or evening?????  In the morning it looked like it would be another day in the 200's.  As has been the case all summer.

And I do not see on search term or one item that got all of the views.

This is such a freaky occurrence.  Not sure what it was.

After my first day of 300 Etsy search views a few weeks ago my views dropped back down into the 200's.  With no other 300 search view days.

I wonder what the heck happened??

Today is starting off high too.  With already more than 100 views from Etsy search before 11am.   This happened a couple times this summer and I still ended the day below 300.

Oh well.

300 Views from Etsy Search Today. First time Since February

I posted that I would not be mentioning my vintage Etsy shop views any more on this blog, but today is good news.

Views from all sourches have gone up in august from where they were for may, june and july.
And I was watching my Search views every day comparing them to high view period that lasted for months.  During that time I was over 300 views from Etsy search every day with also days in the 400's.

Here at 11:03pm I have 300 views from Etsy search.  The first time since february.  Possibly march. But I believe it was the middle or end of february when I last had 300 views from Etsy search.

I really owe it to my Kent Coffey drawers.  They have received 21 views from Etsy search.

Well, to go along with the orders today, this is encouraging. I am looking forward to the coming months and the Christmas season.

Sales are too low. Revenue is too low.  The drop has been too big and for too long of a time period.

It is now 2 1/2 months of declining sales and revenue.  Even with views from all traffic sources higher than 2014.

It's not worth it. For many reasons.

I wish I could close today.

But if august is as bad as june and july, maybe I will close up sept 1st.

I guess I will have to stay open for Christmas.  Then close the beginning of the year, at the latest.

I tried.

It went well for 2-3 years.

There will be no "Going Out of Business" sale. lol.  Just closing up. Boom. Then getting a dumpster. lol.

Oh well.

It was fun.

A Rare Occurance in my Life Today-I Saw a Rainbow

I decided to walk to the local Rite-Aid in the evening.  It was raining lightly.  As I walked the 5 or so blocks I could see the western horizon was brighter.

I went into the Rite-Aid and browsed and didn't see what I wanted so I left.....

When I stepped outside there was a large rainbow in the sky in front of me!

I've only seen 2 or 3 in my life.

And this was a beautiful, bright, clear rainbow.  I don't know if awe is the word, but I kept admiring it as I walked up the street.

I walked by 2 people at the bus stop and told them about it.  The one lady said, "Aw, look at that.".

When I came back out of the next store, it was gone.  :(

Oh, No! The Neighbor is having "Poison Arrows" toward My House!

The next door neighbor is having a new fence put up for the past week or so.  On one section that was already a brick wall he had a decorative fencing that extended, with the brick wall height, to about 10 feet. I just saw that on top of that he is having the angled pieces that extend PAST the decorative fencing!!  There are all the ends of the boards pointing right at my house!!

Before he had them flush at the end of the decorative fencing and they were still pointing up at my house.  Now they are pointing directly at my house AND up at my house!!

Not Good!!  Not Good AT ALL.

That is bad chi.

They are Shars.  Poison Arrows.
