Here I will share not only my experiences with my vintage Etsy shop, in which I sell jewelry, china tea cups, old pottery, paintings, vintage furniture, to name a few of the wide variety of items, but also my interests, beliefs and anything interesting I come across on the web. My posts will include spiritual subjects. I believe in Jesus and believe that God and the angels have played and do play an important role in what I experience in life. Because life is a spiritual experience. .

A 444 Today
So I first learned back in 2000 or so that 444 stands for the Power of God's Love, or something like that.
That Nick Bunick wrote a book and had a web site about the number. I used to go on the 444 forum at Angelhaven.
I've had some 444's over the years.
Today on my ride home from the thrift store after working my grounds keeping job I thought to check the time and looked at my digital watch and it was 444.
Oh well.

Total Views: Summer slow down?
So in march I had 48,000 total views in my vintage Etsy shop.
In july I had 30,000 total views.
Wow. What a difference.
No to mention that on my blog about my Etsy shop views I have been writing about my record low Etsy search views since june.
More changes to come on Etsy in the next month or two.

Vintage Sharon Goodman abstract painting, the sun? the moon?
It was several years ago on one of my daily trips to the local Goodwill when I found 2 works by Sharon Goodman. I did not know who she was at the time. But the painting and the pencil signed print were priced right for me.
I brought them home and did some searching and saw that she is an artist from West Virginia.
I found her web site and sent her an email. She wrote back and told me they were some of her early works and it was good to see them again. And wondered how they got where they did. She told me her larger works about 40" x 40" sold for $4,000.
Here is a 2009 statement from a Fairmont State (WV) exhibit of Sharon's paintings:
"Abstract artist Sharon Goodman was born in 1941 in Detroit, Mich., and began studying art at age 14. Choosing to live and raise a family in Morgantown, where her husband, now retired, was a professor, Goodman graduated with an M.F.A. from West Virginia University in 1978. She studied printmaking under Will Petersen at West Virginia University and spent a year in Florence, Italy, studying early Renaissance art. Goodman works primarily with oil on paper and canvas, often in series and triptychs, creating paintings that range in size from 4" x 4" to 60" x 60." She also works in lithography, encaustic and glass.

Goodman has been the recipient of a West Virginia Fellowship for the Arts, through the National Endowment for the Arts, and numerous other awards. She has had over 20 solo exhibitions and been part of over 40 invitational and juried exhibitions. Sharon Goodman's work can be found in private collections throughout the U.S. and Europe, as well as in the permanent collections of West Virginia University and the University of Charleston. Her work has been represented by galleries in New York; Pittsburgh; Cleveland; Detroit; Tampa; Hagerstown, Md.; Rochester, N.Y.; and Morgantown.
Goodman's words describe her work and provide her artist's statement for the viewers: "My paintings are immediate and energetic. I want the motions of my hand to be apparent on the paper or canvas and add another dimension to the painting-a spontaneity that the viewer can feel. My work is inspired by movement and color. I have danced for many years, and movement and the body in motion inform my paintings. Nature also inspires my art, as in the curving of a leaf, the bending of a weed, or the color of rushes swaying by a pond.
"Although my paintings are not representational, I work in series that are grounded in elemental themes such as water, sky or earth, or in places I have been. I do not expect the viewer to identify these elements in my work, only to get a sense of what the titles imply. I want the marks, the color and shapes, the brush strokes and layers on the paper or canvas to be compelling to the viewer so that their sources need not be identified."
I have had it listed in my vintage Etsy shop for some time and that listing expired. I have now relisted it. I think it is a great work that should find a good home.
Vintage 1960's Hollywood Regency orange velvet barrel chair
I am back at my grounds keeping job this year and one of my favorite parts is after working for the day enjoying the walk through the neighborhood down to the local thrift store. I love walking down there on the sunny summer days.
On one of my recent walks to it there was this great chair. I couldn't believe the price. Especially for the condition. I didn't hesitate. I snatched the receipt right off of it to take to the register with me.
I looked over the upholstery and the cushions and the wood and it all looked great.
I browsed some more and found a few nice things. I went to the register and paid for it and was really looking forward to getting it home and taking pics and listing it. Taking pics is fun for me. I don't know why. But I enjoy it.
Now the getting it home part was an experience, that's for sure.
But i got it home safely and took the pics and just listed it this morning:

I had work schedule for anew customer today, but it got canceled because of rain. So I will try to take some new pics, organize and maybe list a few new things.
I want to make this a productive day. I have been putting off shop things to do this summer.
Off to work.

Vintage 1950's Shawnee pottery planter, oriental boy with bamboo pot, USA 701 planter
Once I got home and did some searches I saw that it is Shawnee.
It is in great condition, too. No chips, cracks and not even any crazing.
I got it listed tonight

It was an ok day. Made some small sales. I did get a good number of orders packed & shipped. I did spend more money on tea cups though. I shouldn't have. I should be spending my money on home projects and furniture projects. I have enough tea cups, too.
I am off to bed.

A Guy in Goodwill Showed me an ELVIS dvd Today
So at the end of my grounds keeping job I got a little upset. Then I walked down to the supermarket and then to the thrift store.
I had gone to the register and paid for my things. I then wanted to go look some more and just as I turned from the register an old black guy told me about the video he found. It was Elvis Blue Hawaii and he was happy that it was never opened. And he told me some times you get lucky in the dvd section and find ones like that.
That probably meant something. But I don't care. That does not change alot of things.
Just gotta set my objectives and stick to them for ONCE.

My Bike Got Stolen Today
I had it in my side yard with a combination chain lock on the back tire.
I came home tonight and it was gone.
Makes me mad.
I bet the neighbor guy did it.
The other night I came out at 3am and it was up by the front of my gate like someone had tried to take it and realized there was a lock on the back tire. And the neighbor guy was out on his front steps talking. He should have seen someone...unless it was him.

I Dreamt of a Girl Who has been Waiting to Marry Me???
In my dream there was this blonde girl in front of me.
And a voice said something like, "she has been waiting for you to marry you"???
Or something like that.
I felt like I knew the girl. But I could not recognize here.
I was guessing it might be MBP from 1st grade, grade school and high school?
I am not sure. Not sure if it looked like her or not.
Or even if the dream was a message.
If it was a message, so what.
I will never get married. Oh well.

"What's up, cool guy."
Tonight I rode my bike down to the local grocery store to get some unsweetened iced tea for work tomorrow.
As I was going through the register the young dude bagging said, "What's up, cool guy.".
I didn't think he was talking to me at first. Then I said, "What's up. How you doin'".
He said, "You're the coolest guy to come in here tonight.". lol.
I laughed.
I must have kinda given him a mean look at first because as I walked away I heard him say something to the cashier about how I looked at him. Oh well.
It started as a compliment and I mighta messed it up a little by given the guy a mean look. oh well.

CHUCK NOLL has died!!!
Wow. Just wow. That's sad.
The Steelers of the '70's were my childhood.
I started watching football around 1974-75. And the Steelers of the mid and late 70's were my life as a boy.
Watching the Steelers. Watching Bradshaw. Then going out after the games and practicing throwing like bradshaw.
Watching the playoffs and super bowls.
Looking through the Sears catalog and wanting EVERYTHING that was Steelers. lol.
The trash can, the comforter, the lamp, EVERYTHING. lol.
And I remember watching the Steelers of the 1980's too. Through my high school years.
And with Bubby Brister as the quarterback. And Walton as the offensive coordinator.
And the suprising playoff run with Rich Eisenberg, the small running back and Merril Hoge as the running back.
Now Chuck Noll is gone.
That is a period of my life, too.
RIP, Chuck. Thanks for all the memories and wins and great times.
